Cypress’ ability to withstand the elements is the very thing that makes it an ideal wood for outdoor furniture and building projects. These trees have developed a distinctive substance called cypressene, which acts as a natural preservative, making it extremely resistant to decay and insect attack.

Freshly milled, the wood starts out a soft, pale blonde. When left to weather naturally outdoors, it gracefully transforms into a beautiful silvery gray. Kept indoors or in a covered area, and finished, it holds onto its natural color—deepening over time into a warm, rich amber.
